| January 8, 1934 Mr. Henri F. Gutherz, Sales Agent Exhibition Sales Department The Art Institute of Chicago Chicago, Illinois Dear Sir: I am sorry that we cannot comply with your request for copies of our pictures suitable for room decoration. Contrary to your information, there has been none sold, or used in any way, except as in the case of the display material used by the Art Institute of Chicago. The actual production method of cartoons does not give us much material for such purpose, there being only a matter of thirty or forty backgrounds to every picture, the rest of the material being celluloid with water paint draw- ings of characters on them, which material will, after drying out thoroughly, crack and break off, and is, therefore, not usable. The paper drawings, or originals made by the artists, are only rough pencil drawings, and do not make a presentable appearance, moreover, we keep them in our files for reference work. Yours very truly, WALT DISNEY PRODUCTIONS, LTD. By Roy O. Disney |
